Below are questions and answers that we get about our range of electrical accessories.

Q: What is Trendi Switch?

A: We are the manufacturer of electrical wiring accessories for use in the home or office. Our uniqueness can be found in the design or our products.

Q: What is the warranty on your products?

A: For added confidence and long-term peace of mind, our electrical accessories are supported by a comprehensive 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty covers qualifying defects in materials, manufacturing and normal product operation, including the internal mechanisms, terminals, socket contacts, switches, faceplates and housings of eligible light switches and plug sockets. Where integrated USB charging ports are included, these components may also be covered, subject to the full warranty terms and conditions. In the event of an approved manufacturing fault, the affected electrical accessory will be repaired or replaced. The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, overloading, accidental damage, misuse, normal wear and tear, unauthorised modifications or damage caused by unsuitable cleaning products. Proof of purchase and installation by a suitably qualified person may be required, and the warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights. 

Q: Are your products SMART?

A: At this time, we do not offer a smart range of products. We have focused on the mechanical aspects of our industry.

Q: Do your products dim?

A: Yes, we offer a selection of dimmer light switches suitable for various loads of LED light bulbs. These can be found in 1,2 or 4 Gang variants.

Q: Where can I buy your products?

A: You can buy our products online at www.trendiswitch.com or from any or our certified resellers found on our Where to Buy page.

Q: How many colours do your products come in?

A: We offer our products in 25 colours. These include gloss & matt finishes.

Q: Do you have USB sockets in your range?

A: Yes, we offer a variety of options in our USBs ranging from 15.5w - 65w charging power and a mix of USB Type A & USB-C sockets

Q: Are your double sockets double pole?

A: Our range of 2 port USB plug socket are double pole. Our standard plug sockets are single pole.

Q: Are our products BSA approved and are inline with BS 7671?

A: BS 7671 (The IET Wiring Regulations) applies to switches and sockets
. It provides the safety rules for how they must be selected, wired, and placed in your home or business

BS 1363 is the actual standard for the sockets that we must, and do comply to.

Q: Your products have no screw holes. How do you fit them to your wall?

A: Our products use what is called a screwless finish. The colour plate is removable giving access to the screw holes so you can mount them to the back boxes you may already have in your home or office.

Q: What is an Intermediate Light Switch?

A: An intermediate light switch works with two 2-way switches to control the same light from three or more locations by switching the connections between the traveller wires.

Q: Can I use 2 dimmers on 1 lighting circuit?

A: No, Using dimmers in a 2 way circuit require 1 dimmer and 1 2 way on/off module to function.

Q: Are your telephone secondary sockets to BT standard?

A: No, our telephone sockets work to CAT 3 standard and require an adapter for BT connections.

Q: Are your switches compatible with Home Automations Systems?

A: Yes, we offer a range of Push to Make switch for compatible Home Automation systems. Please check with the Home Automation Manufacturer for advice.

Q: How do you get your plates off?

A: The plates should pull away using just your hands. Place the palm of you hand on the face of the plate with your finger tips over the edge. Put pressure on your palm and peel with your finger. If you struggle with this, you can also use a soft plastic like a pen lid and push into the lugs at the bottom. Please be careful to not chew the plastic holes up.

Q: Can I change the colour of my faceplates?

A: Yes, we exclusively sell the replacement faceplates here.

Q: I bought my Trendi Switches pre 2019 and the new faceplates I bought do not fit?

A: Any products bought prior to 2019 could be on our older generation of mechanism and would NOT be compatible with our current range of colour and finishes.

Q: Do your products come with back boxes?

A: No, our products use any UK standard back boxes on the market. These may already be installed in your home. Please review the products specs for required back box depths.
