Trendi Switch visits Decorex 2026: Inspired by the future of interior design

At Trendi Switch, we believe the details of a room deserve as much attention as its main features. Furniture, lighting, colour palettes and finishing touches all contribute to the overall design, and electrical accessories are part of that picture.

With this in mind, our team visited Decorex 2026. We wanted to see the latest ideas in luxury interiors, explore how designers are working with colour and materials, and find inspiration for our own products.

The exhibition brought together interior designers, architects, manufacturers and creative professionals, offering a chance to see different approaches to interior design and the craftsmanship behind them.

Colour, texture and individuality

One of our main interests at Decorex 2026 was how designers are using colour and texture in contemporary interiors.

Warm, earthy tones, natural materials and layered finishes continue to influence interior design. Alongside these, stronger colours and contrasting details offer ways to give a room its own character.

This approach fits closely with our thinking at Trendi Switch.

We've always believed that electrical switches and sockets should complement an interior rather than simply fulfil a practical purpose. Whether it's the understated appearance of Matt White, the contemporary finish of Platinum Silver, the depth of Matt Black or one of our more adventurous colours, the choice of finish affects how an accessory fits into a room.

A switch or socket might blend into the wall or provide contrast against the surrounding materials. Both approaches have their place, depending on the design.

Seeing the different ways designers use colour and texture has given us further ideas about how we can offer customers more choice when selecting these details.

The importance of finishing touches

Throughout our visit, we kept coming back to the importance of the smaller details within an interior.

Designers spend considerable time choosing fabrics, lighting, furniture, flooring and wall finishes. Yet switches and sockets, despite being visible in almost every room, are sometimes left until the final stages of a project.

We believe they deserve consideration much earlier.

The right switch or socket can blend into a wall, complement nearby materials or introduce a subtle contrast. Its finish can make a difference to how the overall scheme comes together.

Our signature screwless faceplates, contemporary styling and range of colours and finishes are designed with this in mind. They give customers more choice over how electrical accessories look within their homes, making them part of the room's design rather than an afterthought.

Taking inspiration back to Trendi Switch

Visiting Decorex 2026 gave us an opportunity to look beyond the electrical accessories industry and see how designers approach interiors more broadly.

Understanding how colour, materials, textures and functionality are considered within a room helps us think about where our products fit, both in contemporary homes and commercial spaces.

We returned from the exhibition with new ideas and a greater appreciation of the work that goes into creating considered interiors.

The visit also reinforced a point we've made for some time. Electrical accessories should be considered during the planning stages of a project, alongside lighting, wall finishes and other interior details, rather than being selected at the very end.

Designed to Change

At Trendi Switch, our aim is to make everyday electrical accessories more visually appealing, practical and adaptable to individual preferences. Which is where our modular and interchangeable faceplates give a new feeling to match the interior design over time as design and textures evolve.

Events such as Decorex give us an opportunity to see different approaches to design and consider how they might influence our own work. They also encourage us to keep developing options for customers who want something beyond conventional switch and socket finishes.

We look forward to applying the ideas and inspiration gained from Decorex 2026 to our future products and collections.
